People are referred because: |

Those seeking asylum in the UK are living under the poverty line.
|
- Those seeking asylum are not allowed to work.
|
- NASS support has been terminated either incorrectly or in line with government policy.
|
- Their asylum claims have been refused and support terminated.
|
- They are a young person “leaving care”.
|
- Their cases have previously been refused but have submitted either further representations or a new application to the Home Office, and are awaiting a decision.
|
- They are at risk of detention and/or deportation.
|
- They have suffered domestic violence & or sexual exploitation, & have no recourse to public funds.
|
- They are refugees who are still experiencing problems accessing services within the local area.
